who am I?

My name is Nicholas S. Coleman.  I am an architect, a writer, and a thinker based out of Los Angeles.  This website, frame, is a catalog of my thoughts, my convictions, and my interests, presented as they flow from me – in drawings.  I draw constantly, between four sketchbooks, a steno pad, any scrap of trace laying about my desk, or the corner of an old plot sheet.

As far as a biography goes, I hold architecture degrees from the University of Southern California and Yale, where I studied under Peter Eisenman, Robert A. M. Stern, and Demetri Porphyrios.  After graduation, I worked under Thomas Beeby in Chicago for two years before returning to my native Southern California.  You can see more of my professional and educational work at my personal website.

Welcome.
